Confidentiality

A Note About Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a crucial component to successful counselling practice. Anything discussed between the client and their counsellor is kept private. No one need know you are even seeing a counselor. There are some exceptions to this. Intent to harm yourself, someone else or disclosures of child abuse must be reported by law. A release of information must be signed by a client before any information is released to others, including an employer.
