Laurie Zoppi Laurie Zoppi, MSW, RSW
Clinical Manager
Laurie has been working in the mental health field for 16 years in public, non-profit, and private settings. She received her Undergraduate degree in Psychology from Concordia University in Montreal in 1995. She completed her Graduate degree in Social Work in 2001 from Carleton University in Ottawa.
She enjoys working in several modalities for individual, family, couple and group therapy which include: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Interpersonal Neuro-biology, Mindfulness, and practicing from holistic Aboriginal perspective.
Public speaking is a passion of hers and brings about wonderful opportunities for groups of people to come together to learn from each other. Group sharing brings about the possibility of community/social /professional development and an opportunity to advocate for change.
Supporting other helping professionals prevent and/or recover from Compassion Fatigue/ Burn Out is another interest of hers, which she undertakes with great respect and admiration for those who dedicate their life to supporting those who are struggling.
Currently a great deal of Laurie’s practice revolves around supporting those who attended Indian Residential School.
CLINICAL STAFF
All clinical associates are mental health professionals and are registered with their professional associations. They have diverse backgrounds and are therefore able to offer clients a wide range of services. All associates uphold a very strict code of ethics as is dictated by the helping professions.
Janette Dixon Janette Dixon MC, RCC
Associate Mental Health Counsellor
Janette has been with our agency since February 2011.She holds a Masters of Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary, a Bachelor of Social Work from the University of Victoria, and a 2 year Addictions Counselling Diploma from Northern Lights College. The areas that Janette specializes in includes children/youth mental health, infant mental health, trauma recovery, childhood and adult sexual abuse recovery, healing from family violence, children who witness abuse counselling, anger management concerns, anxiety coping skills, addiction counselling, and grief/loss related issues. Janette also works with couples for relationship building, communication skills, and life transition issues. Janette works from a client centre approach that includes the use of cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, expressive therapy, and solution focused therapy. She believes in a collaborative and holistic approach to wellness to which the foundation includes a bio-psycho-social- spiritual premise.
